The Production Pipeline

Turning a chapter into audio is a pipeline of clear stages. Each one has a job, and progress comes from the stages reporting in.

At a glance
  • Analysis → Queue → Synthesis → Bake → Assembly.
  • Each stage has a defined job.
  • Progress is reported centrally, not guessed.

The stages

  1. Analysis: the chapter is split into segments and chunks.
  2. Queue: work is scheduled by the orchestrator.
  3. Synthesis: the engine generates audio for each chunk.
  4. Bake: chunks are validated and combined into segment/chapter audio.
  5. Assembly: chapters are combined into the final audiobook.

Where progress comes from

Progress is centralized, not improvised per screen. Stages report into the progress service, which broadcasts a single, consistent view with an ETA. See Progress Services.
