• Segment / block: a line or passage assigned to a voice.
• Chunk: the bounded piece of text actually sent to an engine.

Voices

• Voice: a reusable voice identity.
• Variant: a tuned build of a voice for an engine.
• Sample: audio a variant is built from.
• Engine: the component that turns text into speech.

Pipeline

• Task: a unit of work the orchestrator schedules.
• Job: a queued instance of a task.
• Artifact: validated output (with metadata) that defines completion.
