State: toward SQLite
Durable data lives in SQLite, with live runtime state in state.json. Existing data is migrated forward. See State: state.json + SQLite.
Folders & compatibility
Storage is normalized into clear per-project folders. Compatibility shims keep older layouts working during the transition.
What carries over
Your projects, chapters, and voices come with you.
